Winter mini-tournament

We are holding a winter mini-tournament!

With the dates being tentative, we will be holding a tournament from Sunday, December 8th to Sunday, December 22nd. We have chosen these dates so that the tournament will end right before the holiday season and/or finals. The summer tournament was a surprising success given the youth of our game, and we look forward to holding at least two tournaments a year. Ideally, one large one in the summer and one smaller one in the winter.

What is the format?

Unlike the summer tournament, this will be a pick-up tournament. This means that after everyone has registered, team captains will be chosen from those that are participating as players. In a set order, the team captains will choose from those that have signed up for the tournament. Each team will face each other once, and there will not be a final round. Instead, the winners will be determined based off a point system, using the same format as the summer tournament.

Who can participate?

Anyone, of any skill level. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a clan or not, as clans won’t be participating as whole groups. Those that desire to represent their clan can wear the clan tags along with the team colors. We welcome anyone, including those new to our game. Just make sure you can show up.

When are the matches?

On Sundays at the same times as our weekly development games. The tournament matches will be replacing the scheduled games. We will be holding three tournament match days, on December 8th, 15th, and 22nd. If you show up to development games to begin with, you might as well register yourself as a player.

Which gameplay will be used?

The current Unvanquished gameplay. We have diverged significantly since the last tournament, and it would be best to play a few matches against bots to familiarize yourself. Of course, it mainly relates to team construction and expansion, so if you’re good at shooting or biting things, it probably won’t be too different for you.

Where can I sign up?

Here, in this thread. Make sure to share this post with your friends! It will be a lot of fun, and it will give us even more valuable feedback on our developing gameplay design.

See you there!
