Re: Let's design human buildings!

On the topic of mines, I think that it if the humans were allowed mines, then the aliens should be allowed a sort of mine as well. Similar to the webs suggested on the other thread, maybe aliens could have a mine/trap that could be hidden and when activated by a human, grabs their ankles and holds t...

Re: Getting started in NetRadiant

I use Windows only and have no experience with mapping in any other OS. The only problem I can think of is that radiant and q3map2 and 32bit on windows, so less ram can be used. I have a way to get around this but it is only necessary when you have a fairly large developed map compiling with advanc...

Re: Small ideas & miscellaneous suggestions!

I think this would probably encourage players to use crappy lighting settings because a bind to toggle r_gamma would probably be more effective than any flashlight item. yeah, it's unfortunate what some people do to be slightly better at a game. I'm just thinking it could introduce a minor embellis...

Re: Getting started in NetRadiant

Awesome, that helps a lot! I also have a few more questions. Do you recommend mapping in Ubuntu, or Windows? I have both but certain programs seem to favor one OS. Also, are there any tutorials in particular that you recommend? I've been watching the ones by Carterproductions on YouTube, they're pre...

Re: Small ideas & miscellaneous suggestions!

Not sure if this has been brought up before, Is there any plans to implement lighting effects including Flashlights, really dark rooms, and power/ light switches? I don't think it would effect the general gameplay itself that much, but it would have an effect on the atmosphere and feel of things. Es...

Getting started in NetRadiant

I'm ready to try my hand at mapping for unvanquished, I've got netradiant downloaded but I'm not quite sure how to configure it correctly for Unvanquished, opposed to other games.

Re: General Feedback, competitive vs casual

Sounds great. I'm definitely going to need to watch some competitive play before I make more suggestions. Probably what I'll do is create a clan with my LAN group and possibly my own server.

General Feedback, competitive vs casual

I've been playing Tremulous at small LAN parties that I host since about 2009. We stopped playing tremulous sometime last year, but recently discovered Unvanquished and it has instantly become the new favorite. Due to the fact that we play this at LAN parties instead of online we have tended to favo...

Re: Graph-based evolution

I apologize if this sounds like a noob suggestion, but what if there was a 4th stage added to increase the distance/time it takes to become a tyrant? I'm not sure what'd fill in the gap, but that seems like the logical step to take. if you make it wider, you gotta make it longer?
