Re: everything is pink, Ubuntu 12.10 x64, alpha 9

here's the screenshot of unvanquished. this happens no matter which way I launch it (daemon, daemon i386, shortcut). Side note, I am running unity with dual monitors, I am using the nvidia-current-updates proprietary driver.

The attachment Screenshot from 2012-11-05 02:51:16.jpg is no longer available

everything is pink, Ubuntu 12.10 x64, alpha 9

I installed alpha 9 on my Ubuntu partition a short while ago. In the pas I've had alpha 7 and 8 on this partition, both worked if I launched daemon from the Unvanquished folder, but the shortcuts did nothing, this was in 12.10 beta. This time when I installed Unvanquished, from the .run installer, t...

Re: Flying Alien

This is kinda what I imagine the flying alien looking like. wingedalienclosed.jpg wingedalienopen.jpg I figure it's got the basic insect parts like you'd expect on earth, but with the odd unvanquished alien characteristics, armor plating, large mandibles, spikes. Anti-personel, offensive has stronge...

Re: Flying Alien

I think an alien that resembled a pterodactyl or bat would be cool, but it wouldn't make much sense to me because all of the aliens seem to be arthropod (insect/arachnid) in design. The dragonfly-ish 'spitfire' seems a little more logical from a design point of view. The only frustrating thing is tr...

Re: ubuntu's vertion won't start

I don't speak french, but I do run Unvanquished on Ubuntu. Which version are you running? I run 12.10 beta 64bit. I installed it from the sourceforge installer, the launchers it placed on my desktop don't work, but when I run daemon from the unvanquished directory it runs fine. Does running daemon p...

Re: Getting started in NetRadiant

I've been reading through that wiki a bit, it looks like there's a way to start maps using Blender, I think I might try my hand at that as I have had more experience using Blender than radiant tools. Is there any major downsides to doing it that way? Also, noob question, I've got netradiant mostly s...

Re: Unvanquished timeline

Of course, in Dune, there is a prohibition on any kind of thinking machine. It goes a lot further than what I had in mind. There are absolutely no computers in Dune, for instance. It's a very different kind of sci-fi setting. I didn't catch the Dune spin on my first read-through, that's pretty grea...

Re: Unvanquished timeline

Seems awesome so far! I'm just wondering though, is there a name for the alien race yet? Also, this whole thing seems very reminiscent of Ender's Game, with all the bugger wars and stuff, which I think is very cool.

Re: Unvanquished Natural Selection 2 clan

That's one of my favorite parts of Unvanquished, the alien race is more of a cold blooded arachnid type species, and they handle like they are too. I like both the games just the same, cause of their differences. I just hate how some NS2 people talk down about Unvanquished. I love the free part too,...

Re: 1st person gun View standard

Well It would be nice to see a few of the weapons with the pulse rifle color scheme, I also like that scheme as well. But seeing to many weapons with the same color scheme as the P-rifle could not look good. But for all the weapons they are all different, and comparing them to real world weapons, o...
